ZINC SULFATE
Is ZINC SULFATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Zinc Sulfate is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis and should not be confused with zinc pyrithione. It may be used for astringent, antimicrobial or oral-care functions, but seeing the word zinc does not make a cosmetic product an established dandruff or seb derm treatment.
An older report described oral zinc sulfate in seborrheic dermatitis, but its limited methods and oral treatment setting do not prove that topical cosmetic Zinc Sulfate will help a flare. There is also no applicable ingredient-specific Malassezia result for cosmetic use. Judge the finished product by its intended use and comfort, and do not take zinc supplements on the basis of an ingredient page.

What is ZINC SULFATE used for in skincare?
Zinc Sulfate is a water-soluble mineral salt that supplies zinc ions. Depending on the product, it can be used for astringent, antimicrobial, anti-plaque or formula-support functions. It appears in some skin, scalp and oral-care products alongside water, humectants, surfactants and other zinc compounds, but it is chemically and functionally distinct from zinc pyrithione.
