ZINC PCA
Is ZINC PCA safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Zinc PCA may be a useful supporting ingredient in oily-skin formulas, but it is not proven as a stand-alone seborrheic dermatitis treatment. Its cosmetic role is mainly humectant and skin conditioning, and the zinc association does not make it equivalent to Zinc Pyrithione.
A small uncontrolled seb derm study used a cream containing Zinc PCA alongside piroctone olamine and several other actives, so the result cannot tell us what Zinc PCA did by itself. No exact ingredient-only Malassezia study was found. Judge the whole formula and do not rely on Zinc PCA alone to manage a flare.

What is ZINC PCA used for in skincare?
Zinc PCA combines zinc with pyrrolidone carboxylic acid, a component related to the skin's natural moisturizing system. It is used to condition skin, support moisture balance and fit formulas aimed at an oily feel. It is chemically and functionally different from the antifungal active Zinc Pyrithione.
