TRIETHANOLAMINE
Is TRIETHANOLAMINE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Triethanolamine is not automatically unsafe for seborrheic dermatitis, but it is context-dependent because concentration and final formula quality matter. It is often used to adjust pH or help build an emulsion rather than to act directly on the skin condition.
The raw ingredient should not be treated as equivalent to the small amount present in a finished, balanced product. Irritated skin may still react to the complete formula, and the checked sources give no treatment or Malassezia effect. Stop if discomfort repeatedly follows use.

What is TRIETHANOLAMINE used for in skincare?
Triethanolamine can buffer pH, support cleansing surfactants and help oil and water form a stable emulsion. It may also have a fragrance function in some records. Its value is formulation control, so the final product is more informative than the ingredient in isolation.
