TRIDECETH-12
Is TRIDECETH-12 safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Trideceth-12 is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It helps oils, silicones and fragrance disperse through water and can support cleansing, but it does not treat seb derm.
The long-chain alcohol portion is chemically bound inside an ethoxylated surfactant, so findings about free fatty acids should not be transferred to Trideceth-12 automatically. No direct human seb derm or exact Malassezia study was found. A rinse-off product may be comfortable, while a strong overall surfactant blend can still leave inflamed skin tight or itchy.

What is TRIDECETH-12 used for in skincare?
Trideceth-12 is made by adding an average of 12 ethylene-oxide units to tridecyl alcohol. This gives it both oil-friendly and water-friendly parts, allowing it to act as a nonionic cleanser, solubiliser and emulsifying helper. It is commonly combined with silicones, conditioning polymers, oils and other surfactants in shampoos, cleansers, conditioners and serums.
