TRICLOSAN
Is TRICLOSAN safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Triclosan is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. Its antimicrobial, deodorant and preservative roles do not establish that a cosmetic containing it treats this condition.
EU preservative conditions limit it to specified product categories and concentrations, with a toothpaste condition for children under three. A canine multi-ingredient gel and a laboratory complex cannot establish human seb derm benefit; the tested complex did not show activity against Malassezia furfur. Follow the product label and ask a pharmacist about recurrent reactions or products with a medicinal purpose.

What is TRICLOSAN used for in skincare?
Triclosan is listed for antimicrobial, deodorant and preservative functions. These can concern product performance and microbial control, which is different from an approved treatment claim. The EU permitted-use scope and the exact tested formulation matter; findings about another antimicrobial system should not be transferred to every Triclosan-containing product.
