STEARETH-20
Is STEARETH-20 safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Steareth-20 can be reasonable in a well-formulated product for seborrheic dermatitis, but it is not automatically irritation-free. It helps oils and water mix and can support cleansing, so concentration and the complete surfactant system matter.
No direct human seb derm or exact-name Malassezia evidence was found. Steareth-20 is an ethoxylated fatty alcohol, not free stearic acid, and its name alone does not establish yeast feeding. Judge the finished formula by comfort, especially during an active flare.

What is STEARETH-20 used for in skincare?
Steareth-20 is stearyl alcohol combined with an average of about 20 ethylene oxide units. It is used to emulsify oil and water, support cleansing and stabilise creams, lotions and hair products. It performs a formula-building role rather than treating seb derm.
