SORBITAN STEARATE
Is SORBITAN STEARATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sorbitan Stearate is not automatically unsafe for seborrheic dermatitis, but it is a reasonable ingredient to note in a strict Malassezia-conscious routine. Its main job is to keep oil and water mixed, not to treat the skin.
Laboratory work shows that some fatty-acid esters can be used differently by Malassezia depending on their structure. It did not test Sorbitan Stearate in finished cosmetics or people with seb derm, so the concern is theoretical. Judge the whole formula and your repeated tolerance.

What is SORBITAN STEARATE used for in skincare?
Sorbitan Stearate is an ester made from sorbitan and stearic acid. Formulators use it as an emulsifier and stabilizer in creams, lotions, makeup and sunscreens, often alongside other emulsifiers to create a smooth texture and keep the product from separating.
