SODIUM TALLOWATE
Is SODIUM TALLOWATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sodium Tallowate is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It is a soap cleanser made from tallow fatty acids, and the alkalinity and cleansing strength of the finished bar may be uncomfortable when skin is already inflamed.
Tallow contains long-chain fatty acids that overlap with lipids used by Malassezia in laboratory research, so strict screening routines may avoid it. However, Sodium Tallowate is a mixture of fatty-acid salts, not whole tallow or the free fatty acids tested in culture, and no human seb derm study shows that a finished soap causes a flare. Rinse-off performance and after-feel matter most.

What is SODIUM TALLOWATE used for in skincare?
Sodium Tallowate is the sodium soap produced by reacting tallow-derived fatty acids with an alkali. It is used mainly in cleansing bars to lift oil and create foam, and it also helps give a bar firmness and structure. It is often blended with other soaps, humectants and conditioning ingredients to adjust lather and reduce a stripped after-feel.
