SODIUM STEARATE
Is SODIUM STEARATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sodium Stearate is best approached with caution when seborrheic dermatitis is active. It is a soap salt used for cleansing, emulsifying and thickening, and soap-based formulas can feel drying or irritating on an already-inflamed skin barrier.
An older Malassezia culture medium included Sodium Stearate alongside several other lipids and nutrients, but that does not isolate this ingredient or prove that a finished product causes a flare. The main practical issue is the whole formula, including pH and rinse-off time. Stop if a cleanser repeatedly leaves skin tight, itchy or red.

What is SODIUM STEARATE used for in skincare?
Sodium Stearate is the sodium salt of stearic acid. It can act as a soap surfactant, help oil and water mix, and build firmness in cleansing bars, deodorant sticks and other solid products. It is used for cleansing and structure rather than as an antifungal active.
