SODIUM OLIVATE
Is SODIUM OLIVATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sodium Olivate is not automatically unsafe for seborrheic dermatitis, but soap-based cleansing can feel drying when the skin barrier is already inflamed. It is used to lift oil and build texture, and the final product's pH and rinse-off behavior matter more than the olive-derived name.
No direct human seb derm or exact-name Malassezia evidence was found. General surfactant research shows that cleansing strength and formula design affect irritation. If a soap leaves the scalp or face tight, squeaky, stinging or itchier, a milder cleanser may suit you better.

What is SODIUM OLIVATE used for in skincare?
Sodium Olivate is the sodium salt made by reacting olive-oil fatty acids with an alkali. It works as a soap surfactant for cleansing and emulsifying and can also add body to solid or liquid soap formulas. It is not the same as applying olive oil directly.
