SODIUM LAUROYL ISETHIONATE
Is SODIUM LAUROYL ISETHIONATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis because cleanser strength and the full surfactant blend matter. It creates creamy foam and removes oil, but it is not an antifungal treatment.
Older laboratory skin work found a milder response than two comparator C12 surfactants under its test conditions, but that does not guarantee comfort in every cleanser. No direct human seb derm or exact Malassezia study was found. Prefer a well-formulated rinse-off product and stop if it leaves skin tight or itchy.

What is SODIUM LAUROYL ISETHIONATE used for in skincare?
Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate is an anionic surfactant that produces dense, creamy foam and helps lift oil and debris. It is common in syndet bars, facial cleansers and shampoos, where it is blended with other surfactants, fatty alcohols or conditioning agents to tune mildness and texture.
