SODIUM LAUROYL GLUTAMATE
Is SODIUM LAUROYL GLUTAMATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It is a cleansing surfactant designed to lift oil and soil, not a treatment for the condition.
A cosmetic safety review supports its assessed use when formulated to be nonirritating, and a small study on healthy skin found lower irritation measures than tested sodium lauryl sulphate solutions. That does not guarantee a whole cleanser will suit inflamed seb derm skin. Its lauroyl group is bound into an amino-acid surfactant, so free-fatty-acid yeast findings should not be transferred to it automatically.

What is SODIUM LAUROYL GLUTAMATE used for in skincare?
Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is an anionic surfactant made from glutamic acid and a lauroyl chain. It cleans by surrounding oil and allowing it to rinse away, while also contributing to foam and hair feel. It is commonly blended with betaines, glucosides and other surfactants in gentle facial cleansers, shampoos and body washes.
