SODIUM LAURATE
Is SODIUM LAURATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sodium Laurate is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It helps cleanse, and experimental work suggests that the conditions of exposure can matter for itch and skin discomfort.
An irritation study used mice and cultured human skin cells, not people with seb derm. An older yeast study included Sodium Laurate in mixed culture media and did not isolate its effect in a cosmetic. These findings cannot predict a personal flare. If a cleanser repeatedly leaves your skin itchy or tight, a gentler formulation is a reasonable next step.

What is SODIUM LAURATE used for in skincare?
Sodium Laurate is listed for cleansing and for surfactant functions in washing and emulsifying. A surfactant helps a formula handle oily material and water. Its role must be considered alongside pH, the other surfactants and rinsing directions; ingredient identity alone does not establish how harsh a finished cleanser will feel.
