SODIUM ISETHIONATE
Is SODIUM ISETHIONATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sodium Isethionate can be usable with seborrheic dermatitis, but the full cleansing system determines how gentle a product feels. It is a small water-compatible salt and should not be confused with Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, a separate fatty surfactant.
No direct human seb derm or exact-name Malassezia evidence was found. General surfactant research shows that concentration, product pH and surrounding cleansers matter. Rinse well and change products if washing repeatedly leaves skin tight, stinging or red.

What is SODIUM ISETHIONATE used for in skincare?
Sodium Isethionate is the sodium salt of isethionic acid. It can be used as a humectant, antistatic or formula intermediate and is well known as the non-fatty isethionate portion used to make related cleansing surfactants. Its role depends on the finished formulation.
