SODIUM COCOATE
Is SODIUM COCOATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sodium Cocoate is generally a lower-concern cosmetic ingredient, but a soap containing it can still be too cleansing for inflamed seborrheic-dermatitis skin. Product pH, the full surfactant blend and rinse time are the most practical tolerance questions.
Strict Malassezia-screening routines may avoid it because it is a mixture of coconut-derived fatty-acid salts. Laboratory studies of free fatty acids do not show that Sodium Cocoate in a rinse-off soap causes a clinical flare. Rinse thoroughly and stop if the product repeatedly leaves skin tight, stinging, red or more flaky.

What is SODIUM COCOATE used for in skincare?
Sodium Cocoate is the sodium salt mixture made from coconut-oil fatty acids and is used as a soap surfactant. It removes oil and debris, contributes lather and helps form a solid cleansing bar. The final soap pH and full formula determine how drying it may feel.
