SODIUM CARBOMER
Is SODIUM CARBOMER safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Sodium Carbomer is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis, although it is usually a behind-the-scenes texture ingredient. It thickens water into a gel and stabilises the formula; it is not a treatment, oil or free fatty acid.
No direct human seb derm or ingredient-specific Malassezia evidence was found. Because Sodium Carbomer is a pre-neutralised polymer, its behaviour is mainly about texture and the finished product's pH. Surrounding alcohol, fragrance, acids or active ingredients are more likely to decide whether a gel feels soothing or stings during a flare.

What is SODIUM CARBOMER used for in skincare?
Sodium Carbomer is the sodium salt of a crosslinked acrylic-acid polymer. It absorbs water and builds clear gels without requiring as much separate neutralisation as standard carbomer. It is commonly combined with water, humectants, preservatives and active ingredients in gels, serums, hand products and lightweight emulsions.
