SILICA SILYLATE
Is SILICA SILYLATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Silica Silylate is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It absorbs oil, reduces tack and thickens formulas, but a very matte product can make already-dry flakes feel tighter or look more obvious.
A cosmetic safety assessment supports the covered uses when products are formulated and delivered to avoid respiratory irritation. It is not a fatty nutrient for Malassezia, and no direct human seb derm study was found. Creams and gels are mainly a comfort question; with loose powders or sprays, avoid breathing the product and stop if it repeatedly increases dryness, stinging or scaling.

What is SILICA SILYLATE used for in skincare?
Silica Silylate is silica whose surface has been modified to interact more readily with oils. In skincare and makeup it absorbs excess oil, prevents powders from clumping, thickens oily phases and helps emulsions feel smoother and less greasy. It is often paired with pigments, silicones, oils, waxes and other absorbent powders in primers, sunscreens, balms and complexion products.
