RHAMNOSE
Is RHAMNOSE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Rhamnose keeps its lower-concern editorial label for seborrheic dermatitis. In skincare it is used mainly as a water-binding conditioner and sometimes as part of an anti-ageing formula, rather than as an antifungal or flare treatment.
Human and laboratory research has explored rhamnose-containing products for skin-ageing outcomes, but it does not show that Rhamnose alone helps seb derm. It is not a long-chain lipid in the usual Malassezia screen, and no ingredient-specific yeast concern was found. The surrounding fragrance and active system are more likely to decide tolerance.

What is RHAMNOSE used for in skincare?
Rhamnose is a simple sugar that can attract water and support a softer skin feel. Cosmetic formulas use it as a humectant, conditioner and occasionally as part of products marketed for visible signs of ageing. It is commonly combined with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, botanical sugars, emollients and film-forming polymers in serums and moisturisers.
