PPG-2 HYDROXYETHYL COCAMIDE
Is PPG-2 HYDROXYETHYL COCAMIDE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
PPG-2 Hydroxyethyl Cocamide is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It helps thicken and support foam in cleansers, but it does not treat seb derm and a strong cleansing system can leave inflamed skin tight or stingy.
The coconut-derived fatty portion is chemically bound inside an amide surfactant, so free-fatty-acid culture findings should not be applied as though they were the same material. No exact human seb derm or Malassezia study was found. Rinse-off time, total surfactant strength, pH and fragrance are likely to matter more.

What is PPG-2 HYDROXYETHYL COCAMIDE used for in skincare?
PPG-2 Hydroxyethyl Cocamide is a nonionic surfactant made from coconut-derived fatty acids and a water-friendly polyether portion. It boosts foam, thickens liquid cleansers and can improve the feel of a surfactant blend. It is commonly paired with anionic and amphoteric surfactants, salt, fragrance and conditioners in shampoos and body washes.
