POTASSIUM SORBATE
Is POTASSIUM SORBATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Potassium Sorbate is generally a lower-concern preservative for seborrheic dermatitis when used within applicable cosmetic conditions. It helps stop microbes growing in the product, but that does not mean it treats Malassezia or inflammation on the skin.
Even a permitted preservative can sting very irritated skin or sit in a formula that does not suit you. The useful question is whether the complete product remains comfortable, not whether Potassium Sorbate can be labelled a treatment. Discontinue repeated sources of burning, itching or redness.

What is POTASSIUM SORBATE used for in skincare?
Potassium Sorbate is the potassium salt of sorbic acid and is used to preserve cosmetics. Its job is to control unwanted microbial growth inside the bottle so the product remains stable in normal use. That is product protection, separate from antifungal action on a seb derm flare.
