POTASSIUM NITRATE
Is POTASSIUM NITRATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Evidence is too limited to rate Potassium Nitrate for seborrheic dermatitis because it is mainly used in toothpaste for tooth sensitivity, not as a facial or scalp-care ingredient.
It is an inorganic salt rather than a lipid source for Malassezia, and no direct human seb derm evidence was found. If it appears in a specialist skin product, judge that product by its intended use, concentration and directions. In ordinary toothpaste, flavourings, foaming agents and contact around the mouth may be more relevant if irritation develops.

What is POTASSIUM NITRATE used for in skincare?
Potassium Nitrate is an inorganic salt best known as an oral-care active used to reduce dentine sensitivity by supplying potassium ions around exposed tooth nerves. It has only limited relevance to routine skincare. It is commonly combined with fluoride compounds, abrasives, humectants, flavourings and surfactants in sensitivity toothpastes.
