POTASSIUM LACTATE
Is POTASSIUM LACTATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Potassium Lactate is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It helps bind water and adjust a formula's pH, but it is not an antifungal or a proven flare treatment.
No direct human seb derm or ingredient-specific Malassezia study was found. Lactate salts can be comfortable in a balanced moisturiser yet sting when skin is cracked or the formula is strongly acidic or concentrated. During a flare, judge the complete product by whether it leaves skin calm rather than tight, hot or prickly.

What is POTASSIUM LACTATE used for in skincare?
Potassium Lactate is the potassium salt of lactic acid. In skincare it acts mainly as a humectant, skin conditioner and buffering ingredient, helping formulas hold water and maintain a useful pH. It is often combined with glycerin, other natural-moisturising-factor ingredients, acids and pH adjusters in lotions, creams and cleansers.
