POTASSIUM CITRATE
Is POTASSIUM CITRATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Potassium Citrate is generally a lower-concern ingredient for seborrheic dermatitis. It helps keep a formula at its intended pH and bind disruptive metal ions; it is not a treatment or a lipid source for Malassezia.
No direct human seb derm or ingredient-specific Malassezia evidence was found. At normal formulation levels it is mainly a behind-the-scenes helper, so the useful question is whether the finished product has a skin-appropriate pH and feels gentle. Raw powder or concentrated-solution properties should not be confused with a properly formulated cosmetic.
