Polyquaternium-10 is generally a lower-concern ingredient for seborrheic dermatitis. It is mainly added to shampoos and cleansers to improve softness, slip and manageability, rather than to treat the scalp condition.

A product containing this polymer can still be too strongly cleansing or fragranced for an active flare. The checked sources do not give Polyquaternium-10 a Malassezia-related effect. Judge the entire shampoo and stop if it repeatedly worsens tightness, itching or redness.
