POLOXAMER 184
Is POLOXAMER 184 safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Poloxamer 184 is generally a lower-concern ingredient for seborrheic dermatitis. It helps water mix with oil and lifts residue during cleansing; it is not a treatment for the condition.
A cosmetic safety assessment includes Poloxamer 184 and reports generally negative clinical irritation and sensitisation findings for the poloxamer group when impurities are controlled. It is not a free fatty acid, and no ingredient-specific Malassezia concern or direct human seb derm evidence was found. The complete cleanser can still feel drying if the overall surfactant system is too strong.

What is POLOXAMER 184 used for in skincare?
Poloxamer 184 is a large water-compatible polymer built from alternating water-loving and oil-compatible blocks. In micellar waters, cleansers and makeup removers it works as a mild nonionic surfactant, solubiliser and emulsifying helper. It is often paired with water, humectants, preservatives and other gentle surfactants.
