OLETH-30
Is OLETH-30 safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Oleth-30 is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It helps oils disperse in water and stabilises emulsions, but it is not a treatment for a flare.
The oleyl chain is chemically bound to a large ethoxylated alcohol, so it should not be treated as free oleic acid. Practical lipid screens and free-fatty-acid culture studies do not directly test Oleth-30. No exact human seb derm study was found, making the complete formula, cleansing strength and personal tolerance more important.

What is OLETH-30 used for in skincare?
Oleth-30 is oleyl alcohol joined to about 30 ethylene-oxide units, giving it both oil-friendly and water-friendly character. It works as a solubiliser, emulsifier and nonionic surfactant. It is often combined with oils, fragrance, waxes, other emulsifiers and cleansing agents in creams, lotions and rinse-off products.
