METHYLPARABEN
Is METHYLPARABEN safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Methylparaben is generally a lower-concern preservative for seborrheic dermatitis when used within the cosmetic conditions assessed. Its purpose is to prevent product spoilage, not to treat Malassezia or inflammation on the skin.
Concentration, the combined preservative system and personal allergy still matter, so lower concern is not a guarantee of tolerance. A preserved product may also contain other irritants. Judge the complete formula and stop if it repeatedly causes stinging, itching or redness.

What is METHYLPARABEN used for in skincare?
Methylparaben is used to limit microbial spoilage and help cosmetics remain stable during storage and use. It works inside the product rather than as a skin treatment. That distinction is important because preservative activity cannot be converted into a seb derm benefit claim.
