MENTHOL
Is MENTHOL safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Menthol can be a poor choice during an active seborrheic dermatitis flare because its cooling sensation may also feel like burning or stinging on inflamed skin. Some people tolerate it, but the refreshing effect should not be mistaken for treatment or proof that irritation is improving.
The checked sources do not show that Menthol controls Malassezia or treats seb derm. Concentration, product format and individual sensitivity determine much of the experience. If the cooling becomes painful or redness and itching increase, stop using that product.

What is MENTHOL used for in skincare?
Menthol is used for a cooling or refreshing sensory effect and can also serve fragrance, soothing or denaturant functions. It changes how a product feels immediately after application. That sensation is a cosmetic experience, not reliable evidence of anti-inflammatory or antifungal action.
