M-AMINOPHENOL
Is M-AMINOPHENOL safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
m-Aminophenol keeps its established lower-concern ingredient label, but that does not mean a complete hair dye will be gentle on an active seborrheic dermatitis flare. It is a regulated colour-forming ingredient for hair dye, not a skincare treatment.
A European scientific opinion supports m-Aminophenol within stated permanent hair-dye concentration and use conditions. That conclusion does not remove the irritation or allergy potential of the finished dye system, especially on inflamed or broken scalp skin. Follow the product instructions and required allergy-alert testing, and postpone or stop use if the scalp is sore, burning or reacting.

What is M-AMINOPHENOL used for in skincare?
m-Aminophenol is an aromatic intermediate used in oxidative permanent hair colour. When mixed with a developer and other dye intermediates, it helps form the final colour inside the hair fibre. It is normally combined with hydrogen peroxide, alkalising agents and other colour couplers in rinse-off hair dyes rather than used in everyday skincare.
