LINALOOL
Is LINALOOL safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Linalool should be approached with caution in seborrheic dermatitis because it is a fragrance ingredient and oxidised forms can contribute to contact allergy. That does not mean every trace amount causes a reaction, but inflamed or fragrance-sensitive skin may be less forgiving.
The evidence concern is fragrance allergy and irritation, not a demonstrated ability to feed or control Malassezia. Concentration, oxidation and the rest of the scent mixture are not visible from the name alone. Stop a product that repeatedly makes a flare itch, burn or redden.

What is LINALOOL used for in skincare?
Linalool is used to give cosmetics a fragrance. It does not condition the skin or treat seb derm, and the ingredient list cannot show its exact concentration or oxidation state. For reactive skin, the fragrance role is the practical reason to pay attention to it.
