LIMONENE
Is LIMONENE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Limonene deserves some caution in seborrheic dermatitis because it is a fragrance ingredient and oxidised forms are associated with contact allergy. It is not automatically a problem at every concentration, but fragranced leave-on products may be harder to tolerate during an active flare.
The concern is irritation or allergy, not evidence that Limonene feeds Malassezia. Concentration, product age, exposure and your own fragrance sensitivity all matter. If a product repeatedly causes itching, burning or redness, stop using it and consider a fragrance-free alternative.
