LAURETH-23
Is LAURETH-23 safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Laureth-23 can be usable with seborrheic dermatitis, but it is not automatically gentle during an active flare. It helps water mix with oily ingredients and contributes cleansing, so concentration, contact time and the rest of the surfactant system matter.
No direct human seb derm or exact-name Malassezia evidence was found. General surfactant research shows that finished-formula design is central to irritation. If a wash repeatedly leaves skin tight, stinging or itchier, choose a milder cleanser rather than judging every Laureth-23 product alike.

What is LAURETH-23 used for in skincare?
Laureth-23 is made by adding polyethylene glycol units to lauryl alcohol. It works as a cleansing and emulsifying surfactant, helping oily material disperse in water and keeping formulas uniform. It is used in washes, creams and hair products as a formulation aid, not a seb derm treatment.
