LANOLIN ALCOHOL
Is LANOLIN ALCOHOL safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Lanolin Alcohol keeps its lower-concern label, but it deserves extra attention if you have a history of contact allergy or products that worsen facial eczema. It softens skin and helps emulsions form; it does not treat seb derm.
In a large group of people referred for patch testing, 3.3% reacted to lanolin markers and most positive reactions were clinically relevant. That is not a general-population rate, and many people tolerate lanolin products. If a rich cream repeatedly causes itching or a spreading rash, stop it and consider patch-testing advice rather than assuming a yeast flare.

What is LANOLIN ALCOHOL used for in skincare?
Lanolin Alcohol is the alcohol and sterol-rich fraction separated from wool wax. It acts as an emollient and water-in-oil emulsifier, helping rich creams hold water and soften rough skin. It is often combined with petrolatum, mineral oil, waxes and humectants in ointments, barrier creams, lip products and medicated bases.
