LACTOSE
Is LACTOSE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Lactose is generally a lower-concern ingredient for seborrheic dermatitis. It is used to help hold moisture or carry other ingredients and is not a seb derm treatment or a fatty nutrient for Malassezia.
No direct human seb derm or ingredient-specific Malassezia evidence was found. Lactose is a sugar rather than a milk protein, so lactose intolerance does not predict a skin reaction to it. Even so, people with a known product allergy should check the complete formula and seek personalised advice rather than relying on this single name.

What is LACTOSE used for in skincare?
Lactose is a naturally occurring milk sugar that can be purified for cosmetic use. It acts mainly as a humectant, skin-conditioning helper or carrier in powdered and water-based formulas. It may be combined with proteins, minerals, ferments or other sugars in moisturising products, masks and specialist formulations.
