LACTOBACILLUS
Is LACTOBACILLUS safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
There is not enough applicable evidence to give broadly named cosmetic Lactobacillus a clear general seb derm recommendation. Related human research is promising, but its particular strains and preparations do not establish the response to every ingredient carrying this name.
One seb derm study used an oily suspension with two specified strains; another dandruff study tested a specified oral strain. Neither isolates the catalog’s broadly defined cosmetic material. Microbiome correlations also do not establish cause or prove an exact fungal effect. Consider the product’s preparation and whole formula, and discuss persistent symptoms with a clinician or pharmacist.

What is LACTOBACILLUS used for in skincare?
The official Lactobacillus identity covers one or more species of the microorganism and has a skin-conditioning purpose. It does not by itself specify a viable strain, a lysate or a ferment preparation. Those details matter when matching a product with the human and laboratory research.
