ISOPENTANE
Is ISOPENTANE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Isopentane keeps its lower-concern editorial label for seborrheic dermatitis. It helps dispense or lighten a product and evaporates quickly; it does not treat the condition or provide a lipid source for Malassezia.
No direct human seb derm or ingredient-specific yeast evidence was found. The more relevant issue is product format: aerosols, mousses and fast-drying formulas can expose skin to other solvents, fragrance or strong surfactants, and the propellant should not be deliberately inhaled. Use as directed in a ventilated space and stop if the complete product repeatedly stings or dries the skin.

What is ISOPENTANE used for in skincare?
Isopentane is a small, highly volatile hydrocarbon used as a propellant, solvent and viscosity-reducing ingredient. It helps products foam, spray or spread lightly before evaporating. It is commonly found with film formers, silicones, alcohols and surfactants in mousses, aerosol products, quick-dry treatments and some cosmetic textures.
