HYDROGEN PEROXIDE
Is HYDROGEN PEROXIDE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Hydrogen Peroxide is generally not a good leave-on choice for actively inflamed seborrheic-dermatitis skin unless a specific product is intended and directed for that use. Its oxidizing action can control microbes in some settings, but it can also sting, dry or irritate a damaged skin barrier.
Laboratory work found inhibition of a canine-associated Malassezia species, but that does not establish a useful or tolerable human seb derm treatment. Concentration and product type are critical. Do not improvise with household peroxide on a flare, and stop a cosmetic product if it increases burning or redness.

What is HYDROGEN PEROXIDE used for in skincare?
Hydrogen Peroxide is a reactive oxidizing ingredient used for antimicrobial action, oral care and colour-changing processes such as hair lightening. It breaks down into water and oxygen but can be irritating while active. Cosmetic restrictions and directions vary sharply by concentration and product area.
