GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE
Is GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Glyceryl Stearate Citrate is not automatically unsafe for seborrheic dermatitis, but it is worth extra caution in a strict Malassezia-screening routine. It is an emulsifier that keeps oil and water mixed, and practical screening rules often flag fatty-acid esters as a class.
Laboratory work shows that Malassezia can use some long-chain fatty acids and hydrolyse certain synthetic monoesters, but Glyceryl Stearate Citrate itself was not tested. This makes the concern theoretical, not proof that a finished cream will worsen a flare. If you are simplifying a difficult flare, an alternative may be easier to assess; otherwise judge the complete product by tolerance.

What is GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE used for in skincare?
Glyceryl Stearate Citrate is an emulsifier made from glycerin, stearic acid and citric acid. It helps oil and water remain evenly mixed and gives creams and lotions a smooth, consistent texture. It is a formula-building ingredient rather than a treatment active.
