GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE
Is GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Glyceryl Caprylate is generally a lower-concern ingredient for seborrheic dermatitis in a well-formulated product. It helps condition skin, support emulsions and strengthen a preservation system. It is not, however, an established treatment for seb derm.
Its C8 caprylic chain sits outside the C12 to C24 fatty-acid range commonly used in strict Malassezia screening. A laboratory study found antifungal activity from a different caprylic monoester, but it did not test Glyceryl Caprylate or prove a benefit on human seb derm. The finished formula and your own tolerance remain the useful guide.

What is GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE used for in skincare?
Glyceryl Caprylate is used as an emollient and co-emulsifier that helps soften skin and keep a formula evenly mixed. It can also support preservation by making a formula less hospitable to unwanted microbes. That product-protection role should not be confused with treating Malassezia on the skin.
