GERANIOL
Is GERANIOL safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Geraniol is a fragrance ingredient that may be difficult for some fragrance-sensitive people with seborrheic dermatitis. It is not automatically unsafe in every product, but reducing fragranced leave-on products can be a sensible choice when the skin barrier is already inflamed.
There is no checked evidence here that Geraniol feeds or controls Malassezia. The relevant issue is irritation or allergy from the complete fragrance mixture and individual exposure. If a product repeatedly makes the same area itch, burn or redden, stop using it.

What is GERANIOL used for in skincare?
Geraniol is added to cosmetics for its scent. The label does not show its concentration or the full fragrance blend, both of which influence tolerance. It has a sensory role rather than a moisturising, cleansing or seborrheic dermatitis treatment function.
