CYCLOMETHICONE
Is CYCLOMETHICONE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Cyclomethicone is not an obvious problem for seborrheic dermatitis, but the complete product still matters. It is a lightweight silicone that improves slip and then partly evaporates, rather than a fatty oil or a seb derm treatment.
No applicable human seb derm or exact-ingredient Malassezia study was found. Practical ingredient screening generally treats silicones differently from yeast-relevant lipids, but that is not a guarantee of comfort. Stop if the finished product repeatedly causes stinging, itching or redness.

What is CYCLOMETHICONE used for in skincare?
Cyclomethicone is a blend of cyclic silicones used to make skincare and haircare spread easily without a heavy or greasy finish. It works as a solvent, carrier and conditioning ingredient, can reduce tackiness and often leaves a silky feel as its more volatile portion evaporates.
