COUMARIN
Is COUMARIN safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Coumarin is best approached with caution in seborrheic dermatitis because it is a fragrance ingredient. It will not trouble everyone, but fragrance exposure can be a poor fit for skin that is already inflamed or for people with known scent allergies.
The checked evidence does not establish that Coumarin feeds or suppresses Malassezia, and findings about a different substance called 6-methylcoumarin should not be transferred to it. Judge the complete product and stop if it repeatedly causes itching, burning or redness.

What is COUMARIN used for in skincare?
Coumarin is used to contribute fragrance to cosmetic products. It has a distinct chemical identity from similarly named materials, and its role is sensory rather than moisturising or cleansing. It should not be presented as a seborrheic dermatitis treatment ingredient.
