COCAMIDE MEA
Is COCAMIDE MEA safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Cocamide MEA is not automatically unsafe for seborrheic dermatitis, but it is best judged in the finished cleanser. It helps build foam and thickness rather than treating seb derm. A rinse-off product may feel perfectly comfortable, while a stronger cleansing system can leave already-inflamed skin tight, dry or stingy.
The sources checked for this page do not show a direct Malassezia benefit or harm from Cocamide MEA itself. Pay more attention to how the whole shampoo or wash performs and how long it stays on the skin. If cleansing repeatedly increases itching, redness or tightness, switch to a gentler formula.

What is COCAMIDE MEA used for in skincare?
Cocamide MEA is used in cleansers and shampoos to boost foam and make a watery formula feel thicker and easier to spread. It supports the cleansing system but is not usually the main cleanser on its own. Its effect on comfort therefore depends on the other surfactants, the amount used and whether the product is rinsed away thoroughly.
