CITRIC ACID
Is CITRIC ACID safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Citric Acid is generally a lower-concern ingredient for seborrheic dermatitis when it is used at ordinary levels to adjust a cosmetic formula. It often controls pH or helps bind metal ions; seeing it near the end of a label does not mean the product is a strong acid peel.
Stronger acid products or very low-pH formulas can still sting skin that is already inflamed. Citric Acid is not a seb derm treatment, and the checked evidence does not add a yeast-specific concern. Consider the product type and stop if it repeatedly causes burning or increased redness.

What is CITRIC ACID used for in skincare?
Citric Acid is commonly used to fine-tune a formula's pH and to help manage metal ions that can affect stability. It may also have other minor cosmetic functions. In many products it is a behind-the-scenes adjuster rather than the exfoliating feature suggested by the word acid.
