CI 15850
Is CI 15850 safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
CI 15850 is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It provides red or pink colour and may be used in hair-dyeing contexts, but it has no role in treating seb derm.
Official cosmetic sources list the colourant within use-specific regulatory conditions, which do not predict personal tolerance on inflamed skin. No direct human seb derm or ingredient-specific Malassezia study was found. A lipstick, rinse-off colour product and scalp dye create very different exposures, so product type, directions and the full formula are essential.

What is CI 15850 used for in skincare?
CI 15850 is a Colour Index designation used for certain red cosmetic colourants, with permitted applications depending on the exact regulatory listing and product type. Its role is visual colour rather than skincare benefit. It is commonly dispersed with binders, pigments, oils and film formers in makeup and may also appear in selected hair-colour products.
