CETEARETH-33
Is CETEARETH-33 safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Ceteareth-33 is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It helps oil and water stay mixed in creams and cleansers, but it is not a treatment ingredient.
The cetyl and stearyl portions are chemically bound inside an ethoxylated surfactant, so evidence about free C12 to C24 fatty acids should not be transferred to Ceteareth-33 automatically. No direct human seb derm or exact Malassezia study was found. Concentration, purification and the rest of the emulsifier system determine whether the finished product feels mild or irritating.

What is CETEARETH-33 used for in skincare?
Ceteareth-33 is made by adding ethylene-oxide units to cetearyl alcohol, producing a nonionic ingredient that helps oils disperse through water and keeps emulsions stable. It is commonly used with fatty alcohols, oils, silicones and co-emulsifiers in creams, lotions, conditioners and cleansing products.
