BETA-CAROTENE
Is BETA-CAROTENE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Beta-carotene needs consideration within its finished cosmetic product. Its skin-conditioning purpose does not establish an independent treatment effect for seb derm, and dietary research cannot automatically describe topical use.
A checked oral trial did not find an overall skin-ageing benefit. Other retrieved work tested a mixed pet shampoo or used beta-carotene in an antioxidant assay while investigating different substances; neither establishes its isolated effect against Malassezia. Consider the whole formula and personal response, and seek advice about persistent irritation.

What is BETA-CAROTENE used for in skincare?
Beta-carotene is recorded under CAS 7235-40-7 with a skin-conditioning function. A beta-carotene bleaching assay measures antioxidant behaviour in a laboratory system, rather than clinical benefit from a cosmetic product. Oral supplements, plant oils and finished mixtures remain separate study contexts.
