BENZOIC ACID
Is BENZOIC ACID safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Benzoic Acid is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis because concentration, final pH and product format can change how it feels on irritated skin. It is used to preserve the formula, not to treat the microbes or inflammation involved in seb derm.
A preserved rinse-off product and an acidic leave-on formula create different exposures. The ingredient name alone cannot identify the cause of a reaction, and preservation does not prove a useful Malassezia effect on skin. Stop if the complete product repeatedly stings or reddens.

What is BENZOIC ACID used for in skincare?
Benzoic Acid is used to limit microbial spoilage inside cosmetic products. Its effectiveness and tolerance depend on concentration, pH and the full preservative system. That product-protection job is important, but it is separate from antifungal treatment on the skin.
