BENTONITE
Is BENTONITE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Bentonite is context-dependent for seborrheic dermatitis. It can absorb oil and thicken a formula, but it does not treat Malassezia and may feel drying or tight on already-irritated skin.
No applicable exact-ingredient human seb derm study was found. A small amount dispersed in a cleanser or cream can behave differently from a drying clay mask, so product format and contact time matter. If a product repeatedly increases tightness, itching or visible redness, it is not a good fit during a flare.

What is BENTONITE used for in skincare?
Bentonite is a naturally occurring swelling clay, usually rich in smectite minerals. It absorbs oil and water, thickens formulas and helps keep particles suspended, which makes it common in masks, cleansers and some makeup. It is often combined with other clays, humectants and gums to control spread, drying speed and after-feel.
