ALANINE
Is ALANINE safe for seborrheic dermatitis?
Alanine keeps its lower-concern editorial label for seborrheic dermatitis. It is used to condition hair and skin and may support a hydrating blend, but it is not a proven treatment for yeast, scaling or inflammation.
A cosmetic safety review supports alpha-amino acids in assessed uses. Practical Malassezia discussion about amino acids depends on laboratory media that also contain a lipid source, so it does not prove that topical Alanine alone worsens seb derm. No direct human seb derm study was found; the surrounding formula remains more important.

What is ALANINE used for in skincare?
Alanine is a small naturally occurring amino acid used in cosmetics for conditioning, softness and support of water-binding systems. It can also help balance the feel of hair and skin products. It is frequently combined with other amino acids, glycerin, sodium PCA, peptides and botanical extracts in moisturisers, serums, shampoos and conditioners.
